Also, just wanted to address this. I heard from a lot of people on TikTok that this was a “colonizer romance”. Which after reading I have concluded that…it’s complicated… This is the perfect representation about how war is complicated and no side is the “right” side. People are punished for their government’s faults and suffer the brunt of the pain. And, at the end of the book, their relationship is complicated. I’ll have to see how it plays out in the next book.
