it’s just in the first book, don’t worry. it was annoying to me at first, but you have to think that sjm wrote it when she was really young

She started writing throne of glass at 16 (It wasnt published until she was in her 20s though, I think). So her writing in this series kind of grows with her. Like #2 said, it’s only in the first book
