I feel like using “culture” to justify abuse is so disgusting and outdated. I hate when people do this.

I do agree. It’s manipulative specially towards girls of color to make them tolerate abuse. When you defend abuse in one culture, you ultimately downplay it across all cultures. What happened with “against white feminism” shows that. That’s why we ended up with breaking Rosalind.

I unfortunately work in a field which defends a lot of abuse in other countries as ‘culture’ (abuse of animals in agriculture and using women as free manual labor in farming) I don’t understand why people use culture as a shield against criticism.
