I keep applying for management positions at bookstores and getting denied. Why did I go to college again. Also this post was meant for here but the penjamin is pulling the strings
My mom worked at a bookstore for 25 years, I work in a library…you’re gonna need bookstore experience. Caring for & working with books is not the same as other retail jobs. Not saying this to be mean, sorry.

No but I learn good but have years at retail and food service to include dealing with the book section of store. And business management degree. Like comeon pls

You’re definitely going to need prior experience in an actual bookstore before u get considered for a management position.

Was just about to say this. They usually only promote people into manager after they get the experience while working there or if you were a manager at another store.

You need a Masters to be considered a full librarian; until then you’re just considered staff, which is what I am. I’m going to apply this year tho
