I actually don’t care what people read and enjoy when the vast majority of folks know fiction versus reality. There are SA survivors who read dark romance to process, and there are folks who want to safely explore kink. Saying people who read fiction want men to be rapists is fucking disgusting. And you’re mad at the folks defending themselves from this suggestion. Be better.
Yeah so SA survivors are not a monolith and you don’t get to speak for them all. Not everyone processes trauma the same way. And people who read dark fiction (horror included, bc why are y’all only ever talking about this with romance?) are not asking to be raped. But you’re getting aggressive as fck so I’m gonna head out. Good luck being part of a major problem ✌️
Wow. Yes. Considering how incels reacted to obsession and 50 shades of gray, nothing bad will come out of a movie based on a book marketed as romance instead of horror. And I’m part of the problem. And so are the 16,000 people trying to get this movie taken down? Give me a break. Yeah. Get the fuck out of here.
Yeah. Obsession was a horror film, and, unlike HA, which hopefully never becomes a movie, punished the r*pist and villainized him. Nevertheless, incels didn’t process that film despite it making it obvious Bear was the villain. You clearly lack comprehension skills to understand how dangerous incels are and how they could weaponize HA.
Nope. I don’t care about a fraction of people who don’t want a film adaptation. I didn’t want them to make Wuthering Heights. But alas, it happened. And again, it’s fiction. I’m not going to keep explaining this to you. And it’s still disgusting of you to insinuate people want to be raped bc of what they read.
To be clear, I don’t want HA to be a film either because way too many people don’t realize that it’s got an ingrained q anon plot. But we are not going to start saying fiction makes people do or want things abhorrent. People do that already. I was raped in 2013. What book/movie made my ex do that? Please tell me 🙄 When you start blaming fiction for men’s actions, you absolve them of responsibility for those actions. And that’s fucked up.
