yeah I think about IT a lot as someone who generally loves his books. I’ll preface this by saying I haven’t read the scene (I read IT when I was like 11 and wasn’t ready to be reading any sexual content as a repressed religious baby ace lol) so I’m not condoning or condemning it because I don’t have the full context

I will say I think he’s weird as hell for writing the scene and I’m sure drugs played a huge role in it. Not sure how the tone of the scene is so idk if this even applies, but I will say that it isn’t unheard of for 12/13yos to experiment with their sexuality and I don’t think it’s automatically a crime to depict that in literature. You can debate how necessary it was to the book and how icky his portrayal of it was, and I can’t comment on that because I haven’t read it

I do think just based on how everyone talks about it, if I do ever reread IT and read that scene, I’ll change my tune but I can’t say for sure unless I do
