Hello! I love a good romance book but I’m finding myself very dissatisfied with the writing, plots, and characters of most ones I pick up. Any recommendations for well written romance? Don’t care about the content that much, just the quality.

Any sub genres you particularly like? I mainly read paranormal romance so here are my recs for that, but I dabble in other sub genres. And do you care abt spice vs none?

I saw you prefer no/low spice- definitely recommend I hope this doesn’t find you by Ann Liang (all of her book are amazing tbh but some are more lit fic/ personal journeys than romance)

The Prospects by KT Hoffman, The Broposal by Sonora Reyes and The Pairing by Casey Quinton.

as someone who hates when romance is the main focus of books i recommend reading something that’s not 100% romance, imo romances tend to be way more developed when there’s other plot stuff going on to affect the relationship

Hi! Thanks so much for responding, I usually prefer no spice-low spice but I’m really interested in reading paranormal romance! I’ve actually never read one.

If you’re down for a looong book, try Tempered in Ash by Willo Glenn! It’s sapphic fantasy with a slow burn to steamy romance (so it does have some spice but deep in the book). Also check out @andrea_reads_ on Instagram for TONS of sapphic recs. She is a great mutual of mine that reads basically exclusively sapphic.

Omg also This is How You Lose the Time War!!! It’s sapphic sci fun romance with amazing banter, no spice, and it’s a great one day read.

True, and this is what I usually do haha (I read ALOT more than just romance), but I’ve been craving just pure romance lately idk.

If you’re into sci fi I’d recommend this is how you lose the time war- lesbian time traveling agents on the opposite side of the time war start secretly corresponding
