A psalm for the wild built is good, it’s got like sci-fi dystopian vibes but w robots

As an alternative, I highly recommend The Ministry of time. Lots of dense language and beautiful prose, I adored it.

Ngl the Martian is one of my all time favorite books so I feel like you kinda started with the peak 😬😅😂. What do you like about them? The realism or are you looking for something with cool gadgets or set in outer space?

Dune is the pinnacle of sci-fi, hard to understand at times, but the best sci-fi universe by a mile. Also bears no relation to Andy Weirs books in any way, but for pure sci-fi it’s hard to beat Dune.

While it’s still a great series, I don’t think it really counts as hard sci fi, more sci-fantasy. The three body problem is a good one

The realism and science, and outer space preferably and I just finished the martian and loved it, took me less than a week, might even like it more than PHM (which was amazing too, it’s really close between the two)

Also great! I read the first two books in the trilogy and it was very enjoyable!

It’s pretty great, I will say though it is hard sci fi and makes you think, it does lack the heart and optimism of weirs books. More of a large scale, darker view of the world, larger cast of characters too. I actually found it through the Netflix show and was intrigued. Book is def better but the shows not bad either
