I like the look of hardcover books more, but I prefer reading paperback because it’s easier. What do you guys prefer??

I generally prefer paperbacks because they are lighter and easier, but ultimately I really don’t care

I both like the look and feel of paperbacks better. I have beef with dust jackets and oftentimes hardcovers are too clunky to be preferable.

Hardcover girlie until the day I die I don’t have to worry about the spine breaking if I hold it open more than 40 degrees, and the cover feels like rubbery than a paperback

Honestly, I like ebooks and paperback for reading. But sometimes hardcover does look better, for display purposes

I worry about the inside of the spine and like the backing material breaking in hardcovers which seems to be way worse. It’s easier for me to read a paperback without breaking the spine than the hardcover

Honestly same. The bottom of the spines of my hardcovers always want to tear and like fold over But at least I can cover it up with the dust jackets and you would never know

Oh yeah I think that’s inevitable, but I’m talking about the spine. Like when you can see the headband separate from the outer cardboard of the spine. Then when you read it, it bends in half and pages start falling out like nobody’s business, or at the very least you have a noticeable ugly crack between pages

Oh! That’s never happened for me but now I’ll be keeping an eye out

I grew up reading my parent’s hardcovers so maybe it’s only something that happens to old books
