If I can remove the smut and your story is only 6 pages of plot that doesn’t even make sense, your book isn’t good and I said what I said Nothing wrong with smut, or enjoying it, but let’s not pretend it’s the best literary work since Shakespeare

I think it can be used as a good tool in a story in very specific circumstances but most of the time it’s just trashy, frivolously written, and pointless. I’m sick of mediocre smut in books. My hot take is that it’s being used in a lot of new age fantasies to be a crutch for bad writing, bad characters, and poorly written plot.
