It just baffles me that people want the title of “author” without doing the work that goes into it. I get it. It’s hard. I’ll likely never be published because I don’t have the discipline to sit down and do the hard gritty work of writing. But that means I haven’t earned that title and that’s the harsh reality
no bc as someone who “casually” writes poetry (literally just for myself) do you know how LONG i spend on trying to make sure my own themes and feelings are expressed? i literally spend HOURS wondering if “this line is stupid and makes no sense” even tho no one else will be reading this shit. There’s so much integrity in authorship and even something as simple as recording your inner monologue is sacred, AI cannot be expected to replicate that and it’s offensive that it’s become so normalized.
Like art isn’t supposed to be easy. It’s supposed to take something from you. You’re supposed to pour your soul into it and pry bits and pieces of yourself to leave behind. It’s messy and that’s what makes it so human, and people who want shortcuts because they don’t understand that are imbecilic in my eyes
