tbh maybe this is the ace in me but most romances (at least the ones I read, maybe I’m reading the wrong ones) are toxic as hell, and the ones that aren’t seem stressful af. nine times out of ten, the third act breakup convinces me they shouldn’t be together in the first place but maybe I’m just a hater 😭
I only read romance after a heavy read because it’s a light read. The plots are too cheesy and mostly never happen irl. Like, I’m not getting kidnapped, if I do no one other than my parents is looking for me and that’s real for a lot of people. Like most times they are so looks parallel, nothing about real personality.
oh no disagreeing is normal, but I feel like the third act breakup is always something like “they refuse to communicate and then jump to the least charitable conclusion and then argue in a completely unproductive way and then either the wrong person apologies or the person in the wrong gives a non-apology and then they’re happily ever after”
