I thought it did a fine job content-wise. I wasn’t a fan of them exaggerating a romance that wasn’t really present in the book (from what I remember) and Harrison fords performance was so bad 😭😭

I grew up with the movie before I read the book in middle school or even knew that it was a book, and it’s a good movie. Genuinely don’t get why it gets so much hate. I will rewatch it way before I ever read the book again 😅

Fr, wish the romance shouldn’t have been there, it wasn’t in the book. Like the first 2 scenes of Ford were fine, but anything after the launch was just eh at best. They def would’ve only of been able to fit the stuff happening on earth in its own movie, or if the book was spread out into 2 movies
