I had someone call recently to ask if we had a “play place” (like this was a freaking McDonald’s) and all I could think to say was “no…this is a library” 😭 she doubled down and I had to explain that we have books. For reading, quietly. I didn’t mean to be facetious but I was genuinely so baffled.

Public libraries are a dying option for the PUBLIC and you are annoyed they bring there kids? I’m sure you are aware there is a literacy epidemic going on. Just say you don’t like kids 💀.

Although tbf, some actually do. Mine did growing up, it didn’t have like jungle gyms and tunnels, but there was a room full of toys, puzzles and books. Even a train that you could climb on top of and sit in. I have fond memories of it

I had to yell at a kid for playing dangerously on a rail😩. I’m so done with it

I have definitely been to other libraries that have them too! I just have to assume this lady didn’t know how completely tiny our library is. Any public library I’ve been to with a real play area for kids has been big enough to have a true children’s section away from study areas so the noise won’t bother people.
