Book clubs are all about encouraging interests and finding new reads that we can share with others. Your wording is neither positive nor encouraging. If you want to talk about classics and get others to read them maybe try to be nice about it
And the way he (I assume based on the attitude) shows up in every comment section to shit on people’s reading choices 🙄 ridiculous

Y’all are pretty fast to dogpile anyone who dares suggest you read a book that’s not romance or smut or whatever

If we collectively block him it’s effectively the same 💅🏻

Nothing wrong with encouraging other genres but you don’t get someone to do something by being rude

I read all genres but I would never look down on someone who only reads one type. Maybe they’re new to reading or they aren’t comfortable tackling classics because they can be difficult if you aren’t familiar with them

Is it really so hard to be nice? I don’t understand why we can’t just be nice to each other. I’m sure we’d find some common ground on a book but that can’t happen if people judge each other

It wasn’t a suggestion- it was an “observation” that had the intended goal to insult those who don’t post about classics. People who are elitist (like OOP) are also surprisingly fast to dog pile because, surprise surprise, they believe they’re better for reading older literature

Like at this point there’s no way you’re not a professional troll who gets off on being a jerk. Literally all of your responses are so snobbish and rude. We should be connecting over reading, not turning it into a pissing contest.
