This may be cheating lol, but I work at a library and we get first dibs on all the books we "weed out" (books that have low circulation, damaged, too many duplicates, etc). There's these huge, dumpster-sized bins that hold all the books from whatever section is being weeded out that week and we get to go through them and take whatever we like for free. I've found a LOT of great books, DVDs this way

They'll be likely to give them to you for free or for a low price) This is a graphic novel from one of those dumpster dives. It's about a rebellion of enslaved people in Brazil against the Dutch colonizers. Really beautiful, well-rounded narrative and expressive illustrations
