heard someone on the internet say that they don’t read books longer than 300 pages because “what needs to be said in that long of a book?” okay then, leave the bigger books for me. i’ll take my 900 page books thank you very much ✋

that person has to only read like romance and thriller books because anyone who reads fantasy knows 300 pages is still intro work

everything is always so extreme i feel like 🤣 there’s nothing wrong with liking shorter books, but being like “300+ books must just be bad at explaining” is crazy. reminds me of the non-smut readers who shame others for enjoying it. like we can all like what we like without saying the opposite books are inherently bad 🫠

That’s so real. I love my 1000+ page fantasies and classics but if a romance or thriller (the latter has more exceptions than the former) that’s approaching or exceeding 400 pages, it usually feels bloated

exactly!! no hate at all to anyone who prefers those genres, just that you can’t loop every genre into not needing to be 300+ pages. what’s your top fantasy rn? i’m currently reading the lady of darkness series and i love it

i totally agree with that. it’s just wild to me that some people don’t read books because they’re over a certain page number. there are SO many amazing books and they’re missing out on them all. kinda makes me a bit sad
