“Seek help” when maybe the books ARE helping. Like let’s not tell people they need help for their reading preferences. I don’t think A Little Life is an okay book that should exist, espec by a straight author. But no one gets shit for reading it, talking about it here, etc bc why? Bc it’s not in the romance genre? Let folks read what they want and judge the material separately from them, or better yet, read what’s best for YOU!

I completely agree. I watched a video essay by Contrapoints about Twilight and it really helped me understand why people like dark romance as someone who isn't interested in it
