nah life’s too short to let other people dictate what you read. besides the only people who will judge you for not reading what you’re “supposed to” (in my experience) are like business bros recommending self help and pretentious English majors

it’s okay most of these books the people talk about on here i’ve never even heard of and it makes me feel like i’m not a real reader 😭 especially since i enjoy controversial authors but it’s just a book don’t let someone make you feel like your taste is wrong

oh yeah that’s why I said “pretentious English majors.” the kind that think you’re stupid if you haven’t read Hemingway or Fitzgerald or whatever (I love classics lol)

I haven’t read either of those lmao. I avoid classics unless they’re mandatory for class reading
