If the main character in a book is prophesied to die, how likely is it that they'll actually die at the end and stay dead? I can think of a few examples off the top of my head where they don't actually die. Im worried for the guy in the book I'm reading

Depends how thickly it’s laid on in my experience. When they start bringing it up every other chapter and the character starts to accept it and say their goodbyes to everybody, the friend/other side character is gonna die instead

Very rare for an author to commit to killing the MC. They’ll probably take out a fan favorite instead of have everyone else die but the MC to make them suffer even more imo.

Ahh, I’m about to start that series! 🫣 have heard nothing but good things though, so still excited

almost every book in this series is so emotionally intense but it's so good

I’ve only read the first trilogy, did you read any of the others before jumping in to this one?

I read the first trilogy years ago, then almost a year ago I read the second trilogy , then a few months later I reread the first trilogy since I mostly forgot it, and I read the rest in order. As the books progress they have more and more connections between each other so I def recommend reading them in the proper order

Ah, yeah I probably should/will then, thanks! I’m just impatient because I own both the Farseer and Fitz and the fool trilogies but none of the others and I have to stare at them on my shelf 😅. And Im also used to the cosmere where the order really doesn’t matter as much.
