i mean the audience will be aware of the fact that it’s set in the 50s, i don’t think you need to hold their hand and reassure them that obviously it was a different time back then

Sometimes when I read historical fiction and there are some cases where the main characters are so ahead of their time that it’s as if a 21st century person traveled back in time, if that makes sense?
