Thoughts on buying a 2002 Mercedes e320 with 140,000 miles as a daily? It’s cheap

german cars can be reliable if you are very consistent with servicing it. 140k miles is a lot, especially if you don’t know how well it’s been taken care of. if it’s cheap, it’s cheap for a reason. that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy it, but don’t expect it to last too long

Definitely don’t. There’s nothing wrong with a Mercedes at 140k miles. There is everything wrong with purchasing a Mercedes at 140k

Those mercs are very reliable when maintained. Easy 200k mi car with few major repairs. Have a Mercedes/German car specialist look it over before you purchase or you’ll have to become one yourself.

I’m decently mechanically inclined, I rebuilt a salvaged Audi before so I’m not afraid of wrenching. It’s going for $2,500 so idk, I might take it to a shop but idk if that’s doing too much since it is so cheap

Son is selling his Dad’s car. That’s what I’ve gotten from the description, he probably doesn’t wanna hassle on the price too much cuz it isn’t his car
