It’s so insane in Arizona because you are expected to do at LEAST 80 on a 65-70 freeway in the far left lane, and almost everyone drives the speed limit or higher, but soooo many people just go whatever speed they like in whichever lane they like, because especially in traffic drivers are aggressive, if someone needs to turn left in 5 miles they’ll camp the lane the whole time at whatever speed they like so they aren’t blocked when they need to get over. It’s not even a passing lane anymore smh

I’m like 99.9% sure it is actually illegal in my state and most other states, but most cops just don’t enforce it and would rather wait for a speeder. Matter of fact, they’re more likely to pull you over for passing the left-lane-loser on the right.

Yeah the people who see the left lane as the “fast lane” are part of the problem too. It’s not the “fast lane,” it’s the passing lane. If people just got out of the left lane when there’s no traffic next to them, traffic would flow so much smoother. There’s almost always someone that wants to go faster no matter what speed you’re going. The only true “fast lanes” are tolled express lanes and HOV lanes, but even then you’ll have people that barely go any faster than the traffic next to them.

It’s also a law that if you have six or more cars trailing behind you you have to pull over to let them pass
