As #1 said migraines are unfortunately so so tricky. Most tips and tricks don’t help with true true migraines imo. A bad migraine will cause rebound migraines that keep you in a wicked cycle and the longer you go without breaking it, the harder breaking it will get. Can’t eat because the migraine causes nausea? Well here’s more pain for lack of food…my neurologist recommends I don’t go more than 3 days without breaking a migraine. After day 3 I take a trip to the ER for a migraine cocktail.

mine aren’t as frequent as urs but they get pretty bad.. one of the only things that helps me is smoke some weed then take a fat nap. (sometimes i don’t even need the nap) obviously u can’t do that all day every day but every once in awhile it could help and would be worth the try.

I wish I had an answer, I have had the same thing literally every single day & it’s extremely debilitating, it’s hard to find people that understand how it feels done quite literally every single treatment known for migraines & nothing has worked so my doctors kind of gave up on preventative 🫩

i was having 1-2 episodes per month of 5-8 days each with about 3 hour increments of ‘oh my god i think i might be dying i can’t do anything but curl face down on the ground with an icepack on my face’ each day that ended in vomiting until there was nothing left and continuing to heave for about 20-40 min. the best advice i can give, since everyone is so different, is (1) find specifically a headache specialist and not just a general neurologist if you can, and

Recently a friend recommended the 4head stick to me! It isn’t great during the worst stages, but it helps when you don’t feel good enough to hold an ice pack to your head sometimes. Also during class, it has been a lifesaver for me. It also works on the back of your neck. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

i was on medical cannabis for migraines, and several months after i stopped, they reduced in severity and frequency A LOT. just be careful bc it’s hard to tell what is actually the weed helping and what is actually just it curing a withdrawal/rebound headache. i thought i was fine bc i was only using a very low dose once every few weeks, but apparently even that can do it. obvi do what you want with your life but i was not made aware of the risks when issued a card, so just wanted to lyk.

traditional preventative meds like beta blockers unfortunately did not work for me either but triptans have worked really well as a rescue med. reducing caffeine to no more than one cup of regular coffee only when absolutely necessary has helped too, because similar to the medical weed, it can be a toss up between whether it helps bc it’s actually helping or bc it’s treating a withdrawal.

i got suppositories for the nausea so that i wouldn’t throw up a pill, and it was life-changing. you should ask if you’re eligible.

(2) get to the er as soon as you feel yourself starting to get dehydrated, because it usually only goes downhill from there

did the botox make the most difference or did you get it around the same time as other treatments that helped? it’s not covered by my insurance, but i might get it anyway if i can afford it.

studies show menthol can help with tension headaches but not reeeally a clear improvement from a placebo for migraines. i’d assume someone saying nothing helps after 3 years of trying has tried most low-risk naturopathic things like that.
