Just because you are older doesn’t mean your pain is more important than mine, and it certainly doesn’t automatically mean yours is worse

“I’m 53 years old” okay bitch I’m 24 and I’ve had arthritis just as long as you…

if anything being younger should make it worse? being old and having pain is water under a bridge. everyone is in constant pain once they hit 30. but me being 19 and having chronic back and knee pain to the point of medicating and physical therapy shouldnt be normal…

and then they claim “i’ve had it worse because i’ve had to deal with it longer”. like it somehow makes the pain harder to deal with?? no, it certainly does not. chronic illness is an extremely debilitating and painful for ANYBODY to experience. i don’t know why these things always have to turn into a competition for “who has it worse” when we should really be supporting each other because we go through common experiences.

I like to tell my coworkers (who are 20 years older than me btw) that they are still “young and spry” and if they get offended I will dislocate my jaw in front of them 😌 My physical therapists do not like this tactic- but my soul… my soul loves this tactic.
