I took my friend with me for an infusion and she freaked out when I moved my arm with the IV and I said “girl it’s just a tube” and she said “then where the fuck is the needle?” 😭😭

My 52 year old dad learned this when I was in the hospital last month lol. I was like “even though there isn’t a needle in here it still hurts to move it” and he was like “what?!?” Related note: if you have a connective tissue disorder like me, the tube can and will stab through your vein when moving your arm even though it’s not sharp🙃

Dude nurses are always like “the needles not in it anymore!” When I say IVs hurt. Like ok there’s still a blunt plastic tube inside my arm that shit hurts too.

This is why I still move as little as possible and people make fun of me for it because there’s no needle

Yeah while I was hospitalized I had several nurses saying “it’s okay to move your arm there’s no needle!” And I’m like “the plastic tube WILL stab through my vein so I will not be moving my arm unless you want to struggle to put another iv in”

Luckily I’ve never dealt with it stabbing though, but it does really hurt when I move. I can’t stand to have it in my hand bc it makes me want to rip my skin and bones out of my body bc I can feel it way too much any time I even think of moving a finger. At least it’s easier to avoid bending my elbow
