does anyone with heds have tips for how to game with a controller?? i get such bad hand and wrist pain and also hurt my ulnar nerve, but its my largest interest/coping mechanism and it sucks not to play mentally as much as it hurts physically :(

I’ve got chronic tendinitis in my hands, and I found that once I was able to isolate specifically what movement caused the pain (ex. How hard I was gripping things like pencils or utensils) then I could try to focus on not doing that, or find a brace/support that prevents that (ex. A thumb brace with a hard side to prevent me from moving it too much), then it’s just building the habit of wearing the brace before engaging in the activity that could cause aggravation

Have you tried wearing wrist braces or compression gloves while playing? I had a similar issue with coloring and painting hurting my wrists, and bracing helped me. I did end up having one paint covered brace tho

Ugh I’m the same 😭 I only brace when they start to hurt. It prevents me from making them worse tho.

A thumb brace has been so incredibly helpful for me so def recommend. In the meantime before you get measured, I think you can buy them at like Walmart or online to see if it might help before committing to the expensive fitted ones

do you know the type of brace you bought? is there a name for what joint it supports or is it just “thumb brace”
