These syllabus piss me off bc 1) they’re ableist af 2) they encourage students to go to class sick 3) it’s college I’m paying for this if I learn the stuff and pass the test that’s all that should matter

my school usually doesn’t- each professor gets to make their own rules but this one really shocked me like damn wdym 50% or more is failing and it’s worth the same as final grade… 🫩😵‍💫

And the fact that literally all attendance policies went away at the beginning of Covid (at my school anyway) just proved that attendance wasn’t the issue. Bc like the people who were skipping for fun or didn’t pay attention wouldn’t pass, and students who put in the effort did. Tho I will say there were exceptions bc I was so sick, forgot I could take an incomplete and finish during summer, and just told one of my professors to fail me bc I did not have time to write 3 essays for him😂
