I’m doing a tilt table test for the first time in a couple days, and I’m so scared they aren’t gonna find anything wrong and think I’m faking it I’m so scared

That’s unfortunately a possibility but it shouldn’t happen. A tilt table test doesn’t tell whether or not your symptoms are real, it tells if you meet the criteria for POTS. If a doctor says that you are faking it because you don’t meet the criteria for POTS then they are incompetent. There are plenty of other causes of those symptoms. And if it does say you have POTS then you have your answer which is great and you can try meds if you’re interested.

If you have been sent in for a tilt table, I doubt they think you’re faking it.

Like, there are some days I feel fine, I have no issues when standing up and stuff, then I have other days where I feel dizzy and nauseous every time I stand up and even when I’m standing still I’m just worried since it’s not like an everyday issue, they’re gonna accuse me of faking it

It’s like “I’m afraid my GI doc will think I’m faking IBS during my colonoscopy”: you’re already here, doing a test that is in no way fun for you. There’s maybe a 0.1% chance the patient is a Munchausen’s case.

I had the same concern; for the longest time I blew off pots as a suspect because I didn’t think I would pass the tilt table test but it really is incredible how much some tests can exasperate symptoms… anywho I didn’t actually pass out but my heart rate did jump by 50 (which has never happened before) so they ruled it positive
