respectfully, I would recommend posting this to a neurodivergence community instead psychiatric diagnoses *are* very often “chronic”, and mental vs physical health are of course not a cleanly divisible binary, but the term “chronic illness” is still mostly used to refer to bodily ailments

idk about any books but i will say that no matter what you read, your friends experience will be different. so never be afraid to ask them about their experiences, or how you can be a good friend to them :)

no, neurodivergence community on here is 98.8k users, this community is 16.9k. that means the neurodivergence community is over 5 times bigger than this one

I know that. It’s hard to get them to talk about serious things like that sometimes though and I want a better understanding of autism in general but the books I’ve found so far have been problematic

idk if this is your thing but if i were you id probably look to follow autistic people on whatever social media you want. seems more personal to me!
