I love my boyfriend but he doesn’t know how to relate to my experience with disability and chronic illness at all. He told me he’s never even been seriously sick in his life. He just ‘pushes through and gets better.’ Any ideas to help him understand?

Maybe you can try to explain to him how it feels for you by using something similar he’s experienced? For example, I have fibromyalgia, and the best way I can describe it to other people is by telling them it’s like having the flu every day of your life.
