i genuinely believe my insurance is going to kill me. they had 20 days to approve a scan to find out if i have cancer. i found out last night at closing that they just didn’t finish the paperwork. i have to wait another month or two now

Insurance is a scam istg. The only reason we even need it is the whole medical system is for profit and highly unregulated pricing. You pay a bunch of money for people to help you get care and half the time they don’t do it properly and you CANT get timely care anyways

my LP results came back like an hour or two after i posted this and are suggestive of brain cancer unfortunately :/

it’s not a total shock, we found a suspicious brain lesion almost a year ago. luckily it hasn’t grown but this also means nobody is rushing for imaging or any testing. to quote neurosurgery “it’s probably a tumor but it’s fine” and then he left without answering any questions. his response to me asking if it was malignant was “it’s probably a grade two”. i’ve seen a lot of people since then and many of them share that sentiment. i now have a good primary and neuro oncologist but it legitimately

That’s so frustrating. Things take so long in our healthcare system. I’m in a similar situation where I’ve been looking for answers for 3-4 years and am now having tests fast tracked because my symptoms got more severe. It takes a lot of advocating for yourself and that is really difficult to do when unwell. But I hope you get answers soon so that they can get you the right treatment
