I hate medical gaslighting. I tested positive for a 1/million nerve autoimmune disease but now my neurologist wants to say it’s a false positive because i’m “not having the major symptoms.” i’m sorry I haven’t had a seizure (yet) but i’m having (1/?)

Valid rant. You should ask that they retest you to make sure it wasn’t a false positive. But that is near cruel to give a diagnosis that could explain everything, then rip it away

LITERALLY every other symptom?? Including things you haven’t been able to explain any other way that would make perfect sense with this, which I tested POSITIVE FOR?? are we just going to drop it and never look back because it’s a low titre, even though it may be low because i’m on medications known to affect it??

I’m FINE if it does turn out to be a false positive because of lupus, but let’s fucking CHECK TO MAKE SURE and not just fucking leave it here and “assume” ???

Like, do we want to wait until I do start having severe complications? that what you want? are my 30+ other unexplainable symptoms not enough, I have to have permanent paralysis first?? want me to go blind before you fucking treat me?? can we not just keep an eye on it before defaulting to a “false positive?”

I definitely did, and got a response saying they were concerned with a few of my symptoms, making me think they just never went back and looked at my chart lol. I am going to be monitored to make sure nothing is wrong with my brain stem :)
