Why do people assume that people on meds aren’t aware of side effects? Like no, Debbie, I didn’t know my pain meds are causing me to gain weight, I guess I’ll stop them so I can be skinny while I’m screaming in pain 🙄

People commenting on my large pupils as if I wasn’t aware it was from my nausea medication, like yeah I’d rather be light sensitive than vomiting and losing weight alarmingly fast

For context I have Endometriosis and I’m on gabapentin to manage my pain until my surgery in august, I take it once per day and no more

My mom straight up called the pain meds that make my life tolerable “poison”

I’m glad it’s helping you- but I wanted to let you know that Gabapentin was actually found to not have any meaningful effect on pelvic pain, even though it’s common practice to prescribe it off label. The practice actually started after a marketing campaign by the company in 1993 to encourage doctors to prescribe it off label for many conditions it was never proven to help.

Yeah, I’m glad I’m on it temporarily, my surgery is coming up soon and I’ll be stopping it after that
