
most people aren’t keeping up on booster shots, meaning their prior vaccinations have practically worn off at this point you might think masking is only necessary when you feel sick, but the reality is that covid (like many infectious illnesses) is at its MOST contagious in the day or two before you start to display symptoms
My family used to really stress for me to wear a mask, but with me having uncontrolled epilepsy & seizures hard to spot unless you’re looking directly at me, it’s dangerous to wear them. Spit would pool in the mask and I could aspirate because I hyperventilate aggressively, causing me to get little oxygen. Happy people are realizing not everyone can wear them :)
the efficacy of masks as a strategy depends on how many people in a given space are wearing one. the more people are filtering the air they breathe in and out, the less virus particles circulate in shared airspace it’s simply not enough for only the immunocompromised to protect ourselves—we all have a duty to each other to reduce this risk as much as possible
