Cbd icey/hot roller gel helps my shoulders so much!! Definitely for shorter burst of time tho. You could also talk to you pcp about prescription ibuprofen

i got a temporary handicap pass from my rheumatologist to use at college, and it had saved me. i don't really need it for regular parking lots and day to day errands, but walking from class to class on a hilly campus with tons of stairs everyday was nearly impossible, so i would try to look into that if you can!

Use all the elevators to their full use even if it’s one floor and it’s expensive but I feel like an electric scooter (🛴) would work well if you are somewhere where it doesn’t get too cold

i was just given a prescription today for daily pain meds less likely to destroy my guts than ibuprofen. that gel sounds nice… is it something i could hide in my bag and use between classes?

Yeah absolutely! It’s about the same size as a deodorant stick. I can’t remember the brand I use but I’ll look later (I’m two days post op and I’m not going to be the one digging for it I’ll send my bf when he wakes up lol)

that sounds like a great idea, but i don’t have a rheumatologist yet 😔 i’ll be looking for one soon but ofc it’s gonna take 6 months or longer to get an appointment

Your parking services may be willing to help. I know when I was a freshman they upgraded me to a non-freshman pass with a note from my doctor before I could get my ADA pass. And some schools have the ability to give out accessible permits that aren’t the ones you get from the DMV. Always worth it to ask!

i don’t have a car on campus, and i live in an on-campus dorm. even if parking was a factor for me there’s not even enough parking on campus for everyone in the first place 😔 what sucks though is even though i live on the first floor of my building, i have to climb stairs outside to leave

oh trust me i use elevators wherever i can, even ramps sometimes just to avoid the strain of a few stairs. sadly though all of my classes this semester are in the only academic building without an elevator and i WILL have to face the stairs a scooter sounds nice but like… everyone always makes fun of the scooter people 😭 im guilty of it too but mostly bc some guy almost ran me over on one, and ive seen a guy use his indoors

Scooters are becoming so popular like so many kids had them in my town this summer and it shocked me and I would not be surprised to see an increase in them on campus. Trust me if it helps then it’s worth it

I work at a university with over 30,000 students and scooters are HOT there! They weren’t super common where I graduated from but if you already have a scooter presence on campus I say just get one and own it
