Ajovy is the only med that works for me to prevent them. Usually my neuro will give me a toradol shot if they linger too long

I take muscle relaxers but it doesn’t really help, I’ll ask about the injections.

You might need a prior authorization. But insurance will usually cover it if other treatments have failed

this is true! also if you look into the ajovy, try to get the 3 month supply rather than the 1 month. it’s been a pain in the ass haggling around my pharmacy and insurance every month

Do you think insurance will allow it since Im alrdy using Botox for preventative?

i can’t say for sure, but i do know that botox and ajovy injections have been used frequently in combination. you can call your insurance to see if you need prior authorization for the medication

They actually are known to work better in conjunction. I’m on both and on topomax. Insurance covers it all.

We also ruled out other factors– at times there was a nerve issue benefiting from a nerve block and sinus issue benefiting from Flonase. Neither were the whole issue, but certainly helped ease the symptoms so that a migraine cocktail or even basic abortive could work. Benzos sometimes have helped by putting in a deep sleep and calming CNS.

Do you think this will help me get rid of my current chronic migraine that I’ve been having or is this just more preventative?
