Hi everyone! This makes me feel like I’m not alone :) I go to a gastroenterologist as well! Been going since I was 12 unfortunately. And now I’m 21. Had over 10 colonoscopies. I know how you feel. Just stay strong :)

Thank you 🥹 they were really nice but I now get to have a double procedure endoscopy and colonoscopy under anesthesia at the ripe age of 22 (as long as they get clearance from my cardiologist)

I’m 22 as well! I had a colonoscopy a few months ago before turning 22, it wasn’t bad at all! The worst part is them clearing your system out before the procedure & not being able to eat haha.

But just know that God has the final say in all these procedures, the drs don’t. Anything he brings you into, he will bring you through it as well. Stay strong babe 💕

Omg thank you for this! The lady that was scheduling was literally like we don’t get many people in here your age. And yes that’s what I’ve heard is the prep is the worst part which I’m pretty nervous about too cause I’m in recovery from anorexia as well 🥴

I’ve been hearing that phrase my whole life dealing with chronic illness 😩 and that is so crazy because I was suffering from an ed at the time as well! I’ve since been doing much better, but I swearrr that procedure made me so much more thankful for food when I was able to eat again 😭

Screenings for colonoscopies start at 45 and they do try to avoid them when you’re younger but if you need one they’ll do it no problem. I’m 21 and have had 3, the only issues I’ve ever had is with the prep. I have gastroparesis and the last one I did they gave me a gallon worth of prep that I simply could not fit into me, if you find yourself in a similar situation there are different kinds of prep you can request

Yeah the gastroenterologist went back and forth about doing the regular prep or the longer prep, but because of my ED we chose to do the regular one so it was a shorter amount of time fasting

Okay that’s good! Good luck with everything, don’t be nervous it’s just the best nap you’ll ever have.
