I don’t know how to explain what’s happening to me; I get enough sleep and then I do the tiniest task and I need a nap, like to the point that I felt like I’ve stayed up for multiple days, I will start to fall asleep standing up if I don’t go lay down

Have you ever had your thyroid levels tested?

Do you have other symptoms of/have you been tested for narcolepsy? That’s how I was before I started narcolepsy meds. The other symptoms I had were (infrequent) sleep paralysis and dreaming immediately after falling asleep, but the biggest thing was the sudden intense exhaustion from doing anything. I took a 3 hour nap every day after class and often fell asleep from even a few pages of reading. With the medicine I fall asleep in the day like once a month. It’s improved my functioning so much

I’ve been calling it “crash episodes” because there’s nothing that I can tell is wrong with me, I didn’t have an allergy flare up, my pain is at a tolerable level, but I am so so exhausted and I can’t help it

I’m supposed to be rehearsing with the orchestra and instead I’m just sitting in a back office staring at the wall trying not to fall asleep, I literally just woke up from a 3 hour nap half an hour ago, I got eight hours of sleep last night, nothings been changed in my meds, Ive been dealing with a cold but I’ve been starting to feel better from that in the last couple days

They were tested about a year ago and were normal but this didn’t really start until 6 months ago

Maybe it’s worth getting them retested

I wasn’t sure what my episodes were either, and I was worried they were seizures or something because sometimes when I had the feeling of exhaustion I would just kinda “black out” for a few seconds while doing things, sometimes repeatedly, and I sometimes fell as a result. But when they looked at my brain waves they found it was me falling asleep.

I don’t really have sleep paralysis but I will start dreaming before I’m even fully asleep, like I’ll be half awake and still hear things around me but will also be actively dreaming and if I wake up from an alarm and go back to sleep, I’ll immediately start dreaming again, even if I’m only asleep for 10-15 more minutes

I dont know if I black out really? If I’m really crashing I’ll be walking and then just be somewhere, i don’t really remember the walk in between a lot of times, I just start walking and then pop I’m there like a video game loading screen. I have passed out a couple times but everytime that’s happened I’ve been well awake because my heart rate shoots up through the roof and then my blood pressure dips. I got tested for POTS and didn’t react on the tilt table so they said I don’t have that.

I got those tested when I did the thyroid test and I am low in all of them but I have prescription level supplements that I take daily for all of them
