For the first time last night, I woke up and my right knee was completely numb and I couldn’t bare weight on it without it giving out under me. In the morning it was fine again, but now my whole leg feels… strange Has anyone else had this happen?

Sometimes I’ll compress a nerve in my leg that causes my knee to go numb but bc it’s a single deep nerve it doesn’t cause the pins and needles sensation when waking up

And it wasn’t like I was sleeping in a strange position where I could be like, “oh it just fell asleep”. Cause I also didn’t feel that pins and needles feeling when an “asleep” limb wakes up, so I genuinely have no idea what it was

Yeah. Nerve compression is common- especially if you have hyper mobile EDS. My knees give out often now- they just forget how to work and go offline. Sometimes I have to wiggle and smack them around a little like a TV remote before they remember how they’re supposed to work again.

My knees go out while walking due to tethered cord syndrome which is a common comorbidity of hEDS (especially occult tethered cord)

I do have hEDS, I had no idea that nerve compression was common in it. That’s actually very interesting
