unhinged hack that works for me but might not work for you: i pack a bowl and take rips that make me cough so hard i gag, either it makes me throw up and i feel better temporarily, or the gagging helps make the urge to throw up go away and it feels a bit better that way. i also eat super spicy food (think numb spicy, not burning spicy; sichuan peppers are my fav) to help with the nausea, helps increase blood flow to the area and distract my brain from the nausea/urge to vomit
