
I promise it doesn’t gotta be a deterrent ❤️🩹 cause for one, relationships with other chronically ill people can be so incredibly fulfilling. sometimes it’s like finally meeting someone who speaks your language for the first time and for two, there are def relatively healthy / able-bodied people out there who will love you Completely, in the sense that they’ll be eager to learn how best to support you simply because you are *you* and they recognize that you deserve it
honestly it weeds out the superficial people. we all become disabled at some point, temporarily or permanently, so knowing immediately if someone can handle that is important. lots of men leave their wives when they get diagnosed with cancer and i wouldn’t want to have to wait until that moment to know if they would leave me for being sick
