I’m about to graduate with no work experience and I’m so scared. It’s half my fault but I feel like if I was able to put on my resume “I had brain surgery half way through college, that’s why my resume isn’t stacked up” they’d at least give me a chance

Disclosing yourself is never a hipaa violation, it’s only docs that can’t disclose without your permission

That’s OK. It might be a little tougher, but it’s not impossible. Some depends on your major. I would not put anything medical on your resume. Detail education, list any extra circulars you have, volunteer experience, clubs, etc. And in an interview then you can explain. You might try an internship. Also a basic entry level job. But again a lot depends on major.

I know disclosing that is a probably hipaa violation (if not illegal) but I feel like my resume would be more justified and managers would be more understanding if I could say “I was having 50 seizures a month for 3 years then took a medical leave for brain surgery” on the top of my resume lol

Tbh I don’t know the best way to handle it, do you have any extracurriculars you can put down? I get those can be hard too
