I’m allergic to everything so the test was unpleasant. I’ve had it done a few times, sometimes it’s your arm and sometimes it’s your back. If you’re allergic, it creates itchy welts. If you aren’t then nothing happens. They didn’t actually tell me to stop my allergy meds before it, but I’ve ran out of them before. The main thing they help me with is chronic hives, so when I ran out my whole body got covered in them for a few days. If you take them for hay fever, expect that to be worse 1/2

My doctor told me it’s not worth doing an allergy or sensitivity testing because they aren’t accurate and reactions can change day to day for it (idk how accurate that is)

The test is very itchy, so I would bring Benadryl or cream for after in case you have a lot of allergies, but I wouldn’t call it painful. Good luck!

that is interesting bc i’ve never heard that before now. my test was pretty accurate for what i react to, even 20 years later now. down to the species of tree! if i avoid going out unprotected on the days those specific trees are producing a lot of pollen i’m totally fine. i have heard that about stool testing for food allergies though, that they’re not accurate and can change frequently
