Diastolic is under 60 so yeah that’s low. An ideal blood pressure is 120/80 and I’m 100/52. This is also with zero position changes because I had been laying down for over an hour so when I was standing I was blacking out because it would drop so much lower. So my standing blood pressure was dropping below 100/38 since I typically drop about 15 points diastolic for possition changes.
90/60 is on the lowest possible without being worrying and anything below that is concerning unless you are a very actively and healthy person. Seeing as I have Orthostatic hypotension (I drop around 15 or more points in blood pressure when standing) STARTING OFF that low is very very dangerous and I explained why because I’m reaching like 38 diastolic when standing. Which is extremely dangerous. But anything below 60 diastolic is an increased risk of death and stuff so yeah even if it isn’t
Especially on this chronic illness community, don’t just assume things or speak about topics you arent very knowledgeable in. It’s also not good to say something that is medically not normal or healthy as “oh it’s close enough to normal that I can just say it’s normal” because ANYTHING below 60 diastolic is linked heavily to heart failure, heart attacks, stroke, passing out, etc.
I’m honestly very upset about how you commented on this as this is the chronic illness community and having people with the sentiment of “it’s not that bad” “it’s basically normal” “it’s not too far off” has been why it takes so long to receive help or be taken seriously when I’ve been blacking out and super sick. Like that exact sentiment. I said my bp had been super bad and showed it relatively low, if you don’t understand then ask and actually read the replies.
