dear ER and urgent care employees: i can buy tylenol at the gas station for $5. if that was working, i wouldn’t be here. merely showing up in your clinic in pain does not qualify me as drug seeking

Tbf sometimes I am seeking drugs… bc I’m in pain, and need them. Tho usually I’m “drug seeking” for anti nausea meds

their definition of being drug seeking is being present in a medical setting and telling them you’re in pain. the real definition of drug seeking? sticking your hands in the sharps container to remove that vial with just a little bit of medication in it. asking your nurse to just give you the rest of the meds instead of doing the legal thing and securely disposing of it. intentionally severely injuring yourself to get a pain med prescription. they just have no empathy

Agreed. And like I get that they do see a lot of that. but like at least give me a chance first bf you assume I’m only here to get high or feed an addiction.
