seeing a psychiatrist in the morning for the very first time 😍 my recent findings and diagnoses have sent me into a complete mental break. I’m scared. I don’t know what to expect. Is it like therapy? I feel like it’s not. how much do they wanna know? Help

It’s kinda like therapy where they want to everything that you are willing to share. Their main job is managing medication and finding the right diagnosis. With mine we mostly go over my symptoms, how well my meds are working, and any side effects I’m having.

You don’t have to go into a lot of detail, but share enough where they can understand how your brain works and what you are struggling with. In my experience the first appointments are the most difficult because they ask a lot of questions so they can get a full history
