do people actually think it’s quirky and cute to tell disabled people they’d die if they had to live their life as a disabled person? it makes me want to fucking scream. shut the fuck up like i’m actually begging

as a celiac is see “i would die if i couldn’t eat gluten/bread/pasta” so often and i’m like yeah well i was dying from eating it!!! once you’ve vomited blood for multiple days at a time and been in metabolic crisis and felt like you were living your last days you’d give up any food to stop that. i would give up so much in life to stop that. i wish for a second they could experience what i have so they know how ridiculous they sound whining about fucking bread. and that’s just one example

multiple people were commenting under this woman’s tiktok about needing liquid thickener to drink liquid and they felt the need to comment how they wouldn’t survive needing to drink thick liquid. well you wouldn’t have a fucking choice so yes you would and that’s a stupid ass reason to give up living anyway. people who have no concept of disability, accommodations, and accessibility tools are some of the weakest people i’ve ever encountered and it’s baffling.

sorry for the rant i just simply cannot imagine having a life so simple and easy that i would fucking die over some thick liquid or some fucking bread. i guess when you actually have to fight for your life you realize how much you’d be willing to sacrifice to live. id never eat again if it meant living. many people have had to make that choice actually

LITERALLY!! it’s so incredibly rude, unnecessary, and almost certainly false. it’s so negative for no reason. they’re admitting they don’t actually care about making life better for disabled people. instead of ending lack of access their solution is to end the person. hello?? being in a wheelchair wouldn’t be as difficult if we actually prioritized access in public spaces, affordable/free medical care and supplies, and government subsidized modifications to people’s homes.
