I feel like this has to be state to state bc I've been on Medicaid throughout college and never had a issue getting a diagnosis or medication covered - potsie

i have celiac disease which takes 6-10 years to get diagnosed on average. pots has very obvious symptoms and rudimentary ways at home to test. celiac disease has 200+ symptoms that can affect any organ system and drs can never put the pieces together. you have to go under anesthesia to get diagnosed . i don’t qualify for medicaid. but i’m so happy for you that you don’t understand my experiences. my drs blamed me for my symptoms and discharged me multiple times as i was dying.

drs actually gave me treatments that made me worse and did damage that’s taken me years to recover from. i’ve been in this alone. it was so bad at one point i experienced pots symptoms so severe i couldn’t walk and i recovered from that out of sheer spite. there’s no medication to help me only an gf expensive diet and supplements

Also have other chronic illnesses. My immune system was permanently damaged from Covid , flu and infection at same time. I also have MCAS and suspected of fibro . I’m on meds that cost thousands a month . My one monthly injection is 3000$ a month and it’s still covered my Medicaid

Also in my state when my grandmother was on Medicare she was able to get at home dialysis fully covered, diabetes treatment fully covered , at home care and the government paid my parents to take care of her . And at the end covered her hospital stays and nursing home even if it was shit one .

I do wish you the best of luck tho because I do understand how different states insurance work differently and how coverage for certain conditions can be hard to find

My dad was nurse for over 20 years so I def get how annoying insurance can be and how it used to drive him up the wall with worry 24/7 . Thankfully as a kid I had two insurances and needed a lot of care so I filled up his deductible quite fast
