read that people with eds often need more sleep and have never felt so seen. i never grew out of the teenage waking-up-at-2pm phase. my family gives me so much shit for it but it’s not like i control it 😭 i will sleep for like 14hs and take a 2 hour nap

According to the EDS society, it seems like there’s not an inherent need for more sleep, but there are many factors that can contribute to the sleep you are getting being poor causing chronic fatigue. Which, in turn, makes you want to sleep more. It lists a bunch of things to try to get better sleep and a more “normal” sleep schedule but ultimately there’s not a ton you can do about some of the root causes like chronic pain, dysautonomia, and poor sleep quality
